The stillness of pine trees, the crackle of a bonfire, crisp snow, and a vast starlit hillside are ready to welcome you and to offer a moment of healing and retreat. You are invited to gather outside (please dress warmly!) with others for a time of letting go of the past year, welcoming the new light back to the world, and resting in silence. We will share time for reflection, a ritual offering of the past year into the bonfire, and time in contemplative silence with the forest teachers who will present themselves.
This event will take place entirely outside at Heartberry Hollow Farm and Forest, which is home to a small community of animal teachers, plant teachers, and people. We will provide hot apple cider, a few warm baked goods (all harvested and prepared from our farm) and a warm fire. Winter camping sites will be available for those interested and the retreat will be limited due to COVID.
Retreat co-facilitator Rachel Field has fifteen years of experience leading nature-based retreat programs for small groups. She believes her task is to frame the space for each participant and the Creation to encounter each other. Co-facilitator Lisa McCrory is a holistic land management practitioner with three decades of experience incorporating spiritual practices into her management strategies. She lives with her family at Earthwise Farm & Forest in Bethel, VT.
The suggested donation for this retreat is $20, but we believe that money should not be a barrier for access to healing. So please do what feels right to you to honor yourself and support Heartberry Hollow Farm and Forest. Donations are welcome through eventbrite or by cash/check on the day of the event.
